Back At Last

I’ve been back in Houston since Saturday, so this roundup of the rest of my trip is a bit overdue. However, after leaving England, I headed over to Holland with Gareth and Hanne. There’s no point in repeating what’s already been said, but I will say that I had a great time with Gareth and Hanne while in Holland (especially on the night we went bowling and drinking with Ferdinand in Den Haag - what a great combination!).

After Gareth and Hanne left, I had a few days before Gareth was to come back again for Dance Valley. The majority of the time was spent catching up on lost sleep and hanging out with family. It was good to be able to relax and get prepared for…

Dance Valley 2005!

I could go on for hours about how much fun I had while I was at Dance Valley. Even though it rained, we had to walk in endless amounts of mud, and my camera and I departed (yes, again) I still had an unbelievable time.

The story of the camera is a bit uncertain. One minute I had it, the next minute I didn’t. A few hours later Gareth and I saw someone taking pictures with an identical camera. Upon being questioned, they insisted it was theirs. The chances of this being true are extremely slim. Not only have I not seen anyone with that camera color/model ever, I also know that it’s not as popular in Europe. Considering the suspects were Dutch, I’m pretty sure they either a) stole it or b) I dropped it, they found it, and were too dishonest to return it. Either way I’m upset and pissed, but what can you do?

Anyhow, among the DJs we saw were (in no particular order): Ronald van Gelderen, Above and Beyond, Deep Dish, Armin van Buuren (briefly), Paul van Dyk, and Ferry Corsten. There’s a few others, but I can’t remember their names at the moment. At night, the laser show that accompanied Paul van Dyk’s set was absolutely amazing. The general feeling there was positive, because it was clear that everyone was there to have a good time and the bad weather wasn’t going to affect them. Ah, good times..

After Dance Valley, Gareth and I returned to Delft to hang out with my uncle before Gareth’s flight. We ended up eating dinner a bit late so we drove Gareth to Schipol so that he could get there on time (the trains would have taken too long).

From then on, I spent the remainder of my trip with my family. All in all, I had a good time. Given the fact that I am unsure when my next vacation will be, I tried to make the most of the three weeks I had in Europe. I’m both happy and sad to be back, but either way it’s time to get ready for school. Bleh.
